Trip to the south

Finally i m here to blog about my Singapore and Johor trip. I noe i am in turtle speed, but at least i write something here rite? Jux forgive me, i m just too busy, or can consider lazy to do anything after settled wif the new house.
The trip was awesome but a bit tiring. Mr.Yang and I enjoyed the trip very much since the two Johorean brought us to quite a lot of places. He suggested to have another trip just for food and i m considering about it, but i think i should go to the north first. The food was mouthwatering too and i love the seafood very much, is quite cheap compared to KL. We went to Singapore twice in this trip and nothing much i wan to talk bout Singapore since this is the third time i have been there with the frens. I got myself two pairs of shoes from Charles & Keith, i really cant control myself when i c the price... The figures are just too small...
Can u believe that we took almost 900 pictures in this short short 4 days? Thanx to Laurel for bringing us a brand new DSLR and i really heart photoshooting!!! I will try to upload more nice nice pictures in the next post. Stay tuned.

p/s: My brand new G11 has arrived last week. ngek ngek ngek...

Canon Powershot Pro G10 or G11?

my Canon IXUS 800IS was dead few months ago and i cant wait to get myself a new camera since I love camera and photography so much. i am looking for a new camera since the old one tak boleh lagi, but i still cant find a suitable one to replace the previous one. I was so excited when Canon are going to release the two new models for IXUS which is 120IS and 200IS and i am so damn interested in IXUS 200IS because of the 5x zoom. I went to have a look at these two cameras few days ago and i have to admit that i am quite disappointed. The outlook for IXUS 120IS is cool and the colour is quite special but honestly i am not really satisfied with the output especially for 200IS or mayb i had put too high hope on these two new cameras.

I did not have any intention to go for DSLR before because of the price. Afford to buy the body but do not afford to get the lenses.
Conclusion: DSLR out!!!
When i first tried to capture a picture using Powershot Pro G10 and i have to admit that i am in love with it. i really love the output!!! The onli thing that i am not really satisfied is the outlook, is not as nice as IXUS, and is not as small as IXUS. but i think i will go for quality rather than outlook dis time.
Is time for me to upgrade myself now!!!

The problem now is should i wait for G11 or get a G10 now?

I would like to share something bout megapixels here cox i think that is good to have this knowledge.

http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/08/leaked-canon-g11-specs-show-five-megapixels-less-than-g10/
"Chugachman: To answer your question - Dropping to 10MP from 14.7MP is a good thing for overall photo quality. While the general public and un-informed sales people latch onto megapixels as a measure of quality, knowledgable photographers know that this is just one measure, and not necessarily the best one.
With a fixed sensor size, the more pixels on the sensor, the smaller each pixel is and the closer together they have to be packed. This leads to increased noise in the photo (due to various technical reasons I won’t get into). Since higher megapixel counts lead to more noise, there is a law of diminishing returns. What good is a 14MP image if the photo has lots of noise or is otherwise not as sharp due to heavy noise-reduction processing? Wouldn’t a sharp 10MP be better than a smeared 14MP?
Since very few people print larger than 8×10 or even 11×13, anything over 10MP is wasted resolution (really, anything over 5MP is for the vast majority of the public who print 5×7 or view on computer screens). What Canon is doing here is realizing that since the G11 is marketed to knowledgable photographers, not the general public, they can lower the pixel count in order to improve low-light sensitivity and noise levels. They are counting on their target audience to not be caught up in the megapixel hype.
For myself, I would not have purchased a G10 at 14MP, knowing about the limitations. My reaction to the G11 announcement is the opposite of yours - I am excited about the drop in megapixels. It’s great to see a prosumer camera that will let me take indoor photos without flash and with low noise. Of course I’m in the target audience for this camera as the owner of five dSLR bodies and a dozen lenses. Sometimes I want a small camera for when an SLR isn’t allowed or appropriate, but I don’t want to compromise quality or controls very much. That “low light improvement” you mention in your post is a direct result of dropping from 14MP to 10MP. So even though you didn’t know that 14MP isn’t necessarily better, you at least know that there are other factors to consider than megapixels."
